ME Graduate Seminar Series
The graduate seminar series presents speakers of varied interests, industries, and professions.
ME Chair's Distinguished Industry Lecture Series
The Chair's Distinguished Industry Lecture Series is designed to expose faculty and students to the latest trends, research and problems facing a particular industry today; and for industry leaders to present their perspective on these engineering challenges.
Albert Kobayashi Lecture Series, early fall quarter
This lecture series was establish to honor the work of Professor Albert Kobayashi, a world renowned expert in the fields of fracture mechanics, experimental stress analysis, and finite element analysis. His research has impacted the aerospace industry, the construction industry and healthcare. He is well-known internationally for his innovative "hybrid experimental and numerical method" for solving engineering problems. He has consulted with the National Science Foundation, Office of Naval Research, Air Force Propellant Laboratory and Boeing on issues of structural mechanics.
The EIH Fall Showcase features the work of a dozen student teams that have been collaborating with clinical mentors throughout the quarter to define and solve unmet challenges in healthcare. Students will share lightning pitches and 6-7 teams are down-selected for continuation into winter and spring quarters.

College of Engineering events

The College of Engineering annually hosts a lecture series, where our distinguished faculty connect their current research with real world applications.
Engineering Exploration Night connects engineering alumni and students to discuss engineering careers and fields. Students have an opportunity to "speed date" with alumni from all UW engineering departments. This popular and fun night for alumni and students usually occurs in January.
At Engineering Discovery Days, students and faculty from all UW engineering departments share their work with students, teachers, families and the community.
