Indiana drops game one in Dearborn 7-4

The Hoosiers were outdone by host Michigan-Dearborn on Friday.

Travelling to Dearborn the day after thanksgiving, IU (7-8-0) could not come up with a win in the first of three games this weekend.

UM-Dearborn (8-8-0) took it to the Hoosiers from the opening drop, controlling play for the better part of two periods. After an uneven first period, though, Indiana trailed only 1-0 nothing at the break. The luck would not last as the Wolves broke through for five goals in the second while only allowing two Hoosier tallies.

Indiana finally started to get things going in the third, putting home three more goals and allowing just a single Dearborn score. But the push was too late for the Hoosiers, who fell 7-4 in the first of three contests at the UM-Dearborn Holiday Classic.

Indiana goals came from Nick Dobrez (2), Tommy Washburn and Joey Tullis.

The Hoosiers will be back in action at 3pm ET on Saturday against Eastern Michigan. The two split a series in Indiana back in October.
