Indiana (11-15-2) will take this weekend off before gearing up for the season’s stretch run next week. IU will finish up the regular season on the road at Robert Morris on February 10 and 11 then will travel to Athens, Ohio for the CSCHL tournament the following week.
The Hoosiers were unable to come out of Champaign with a win last weekend. IU fell 5-0 in a disjointed contest last Friday. The team then squandered two leads and conceded an empty net goal in a 5-2 loss on Saturday. The two losses put IU at 2-4-2 this semester. The Hoosiers have lost five of the last six as well.
The final rankings determining national tournament berths come out next Friday. IU has been teetering on the edge of the table, receiving votes in each of the last three rankings without jumping into the top-25. The top 20 teams in the country qualify for this year’s national tournament, which will be held in Cleveland.
Indiana will meet up with RMU next Friday and Saturday at the Edge Ice Arena in Bensenville, Ill. Both games are 8:30 pm ET start times.
